A dealer can't always spot a problem as he knows nothing about the former owner. I have purchased 2 vehicles from Giffins and although the vehicles weren't perfect , service before and after were highly commendable. Maybe you treated your new purchase with the same lack of care as you did your former that blew up. This is no one's fault but your own. In the future you should buy new with a warrenty and find out just how bad new dealers are. Also do your homework before you buy anything in the future.
